Winneshiek County has second highest number of active COVID-19 cases in NE Iowa

Fayette County currently leads northeast Iowa in the number of active COVID-19 cases. The county reports 316 active cases as of Monday morning. Winneshiek County reports 256 active cases, Allamakee County reports 206 active cases, Clayton County reports 176 active cases, Howard County reports 164 active cases, and Chickasaw County reports 116 active cases.
Monday's figures show Fayette County with 1,522 total cases, Clayton County with 1,478 total cases, Winneshiek County with 1,472 total cases, Allamakee County with 1,241 total cases, Chickasaw County with 1,089 total cases, and Howard County with 796 total cases.
Clayton County reports the highest death rate in NE Iowa with 47, followed by Allamakee County with 26, Fayette County with 22, Winneshiek County with 19, Howard County with 18, and Chickasaw County with 11 deaths. The total for the six-county region of northeast Iowa is 143 COVID-related deaths.
