Winneshiek County reports an increase in total COVID-19 cases, but active cases continue to trend downward.
Wednesday's figures show Fayette County with 1,467 total cases, Clayton County with 1,441 total cases, Winneshiek County with 1,418 total cases, Allamakee County with 1,218 total cases, Chickasaw County with 1,067 total cases, and Howard County with 768 total cases.
Winneshiek County currently has 244 active cases of COVID-19 — down from 367 two weeks ago. Fayette County reports 290 active cases, Allamakee County reports 225 active cases, Clayton County reports 169 active cases, Howard County reports 152 active cases, and Chickasaw County reports 108 active cases.
Since March, 141 residents of the six NE Iowa counties have died from COVID-19, including 46 in Clayton County, 26 in Allamakee County, 21 in Fayette County, and 19 in Winneshiek County.
