


The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting that 140 people have died from the COVID-19 virus in the six counties of NE Iowa — 40 new deaths in one week.
46 of those deaths have been in Clayton County, 26 in Allamakee County, and 21 in Fayette County. Winneshiek County has had 19 COVID-19 related deaths, Howard County has had 17, and Chickasaw County has had 11.
Overall, there have been 7,298 positive cases of COVID-19 in NE Iowa since March 2019. Fayette County has had 1,452; Clayton County has had 1,424; Winneshiek County has had 1,401; Chickasaw County has had 1,054; Allamakee County has had 1,210; and Howard County has had 757 total cases.
Currently,5,982 NE Iowa residents who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered, while 1,186 are still in quarantine or in isolation.
