Winneshiek County Public Health Director says new COVID-19 cases took a jump in the county last week

Winneshiek County Public Health Director Krista Vanden Brink says there were 96 new cases of COVID-19 last week among Winneshiek County residents.  That's a significant increase from the total of cases from the prior week, she says.

Vanden Brink says one of the reasons for the increase is that one long-term care facility in the county is still coping with an outbreak of COVID-19 among its residents.

Vanden Brink says she understands that people are weary from having to take precautions against getting COVID-19, but it's important to continue to do so—especially over the holidays.
