Jackie e-mails "It might be helpful if the COVID-19 reports could include surrounding counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin--particularly La Crosse. The virus does cross borders when people cross borders."

The Answer Person says: "This information probably could be helpful.  But we've been running like crazy to keep up with the flood of local news since the start of the coronavirus, so we'll keep reporting on COVID-19 totals in NE Iowa.

However, this is a good time to remind people that all other states have their own website which reports on COVID-19 cases--including Minnesota and Wisconsin.  So if you're curious how many COVID-19 cases have been reported in Winona County, visit the Minnesota website,  If you want to know how many COVID-19 cases are in La Crosse County, visit

If you're interested in COVID-19 cases by county in other states, just do a search for COVID-19 and that state name and you'll be directed to the right website."
