Chris and Emily Norton will be heading back to Decorah July 1st

Chris Norton suffered a spinal cord injury in 2010 while playing football as a Luther College freshman.  Doctors gave him only a three percent chance of ever standing again.  He ignored those odds.  Instead he walked across the Luther College graduation stage with fiance Emily at his side in 2015.

Now the two have written a book, "The Seven Longest Yards," about their experiences.  They will  return to Decorah on Monday, July 1st, for an "Evening in Conversation" at 7:00 p.m. at Carrie Lee Elementary Auditorium

Dragonfly Books in downtown Decorah is hosting this ticketed event. General admission tickets are on sale now at Dragonfly Books for $40 each (or $10 for children 12 and under). Seating is limited. Adult tickets include an autographed copy of "The Seven Longest Yards."  Children must be accompanied by an adult, with a limit of two children per ticketed adult and a limit of 8 tickets per order. Tickets are available in store at Dragonfly Books, 112 W. Water St. and online at

The Decorah event will be held one week before the book is published.
