Decorah City Forester Robin Sailor has resigned from her part-time role as Forester, but remains a full-time employee of the City Parks Department as Assistant Park Superintendent. Sailor has been working in the City Parks Department for the past year and a half.

Sailor began working as Decorah City Forester in January of 2017. During her time in the position she worked to replace the city's boulevard trees and helped implement Decorah's Greenspace Project.

Parks & Recreation Director Andy Nimrod says, "Robin has done a fantastic job of leading the City during the outbreak of the Emerald Ash Borer and replacing the urban tree canopy through numerous tree planting projects. Her dedication to planting trees in Decorah will positively impact many future generations."

Nimrod says the City is currently reviewing the Forester position, and is trying to determine how to move forward.
