The Pride of the Vikings Marching Band earned its 16th consecutive Division 1 rating at the Iowa High School Music Association's State Marching Festival held in Waterloo over the weekend.
The rating was given to the Vikings by a panel of six judges at Waterloo Memorial Stadium.
Said Marching Band Director Dustin Bliven, "This year's marching band has worked extremely hard learning difficult music and drill; they have plotted 52 different formations on the field while memorizing seven and a half minutes' worth of music. They worked diligently in every rehearsal and their amazing performance on Saturday demonstrated that hard work. I'm very proud of them for their dedication and hard work this year; this season has been an amazing journey."
