Ask Mr. Answer Person: "What can be done about moles?"

Posted: Tue, May 7, 2013 5:23 PM

Jan says, "The deer always eat my tulips, but I have had MOLES destroying my lawn on top of the deer situation.  I do not know how I am going to mow it in the spots where the grass is still growing.  It is so lumpy.  What to do????"

Mr. Answer Person says: "Does it seem like the questions to Mr. Answer Person have taken on a wildlife flavor lately?
Mr. Answer Person is not a mole expert, but Wikipedia is.  Here's what they say: "The most common method (of controlling moles) is Phostoxin or Talunex tablets. They contain aluminium phosphide and are inserted in the mole tunnels, where they turn into phosphine gas (not be confused with phosgene gas)."

Hope this helps.  Has Mr. Answer Person ignored other animal advice??
