City of Decorah and Winneshiek County will reapply for "TIGER" funding

The City of Decorah and Winneshiek County have decided to take another shot at trying to get a federal grant to help pay for local road projects.

The TIGER program is funded by the federal economic stimulus.  While the city and county failed to attract a TIGER3 grant, they have decided to apply for a "TIGER4" grant--resubmitting their same application.

If approved, the federal grant would help fund the Short Street project, a Locust Road repaving, a repaving of Old Stage Road and other roads in Freeport and a connection trail from the Trout Run Trail to the Prairie Farmer's Trail.
